Synopsis
The Fifth Quarter is an experimental documentary on the history and geography of basketball in America. Continuing my research into the cross-section of sports, identity, and nationality, The Fifth Quarter will focus on the evolution of basketball from its indoor middle class roots to an outdoor city game, with particular emphasis on its merger with hip hop in the mid-1980s and the rise of the “Dunkadelic Era.”
